i def haf a new found respect for Hans Christine Andersen. No, he definitely is much much more than a simplistic children story writer. when u analyse his stories, u finally realise how much depth and thought goes into the crafting of each one, complete with the use of a double language, one for children and yet, one that goes waaaaaaaay beyond that.

anyway, he writes this in 'The Snowman'.
In the summer when they have leaves, you cannot see what intricate and lovely patterns the branches make.

yea that is so so so true. the trees are so beautiful in winter. especially when they have been covered in what he terms 'diamond dust'.
