if bangladesh can donate 1 million dollars to US in the wake of hurricane katrina, why is it that we haven't done more than send 4 chinook helicopters to help, e last helicopter only recently after so many days? i mean, yea, granted e 4 chinook helicopters have certainly done a lot and i applaud the 41 rsaf personnel involved, but there must certainly be more that we can do! come on... afghanistan is providing 100,000. and bangladesh IS one of the poorest countries in the world!

yea singapore red cross is helping. is that the singapore govt? nope. it juz seems as though there is so little that we are doing!

i've juz gone thru the archives for the past 2 weeks or so, and it certainly is heart-wrenching. it's painful. i could never imagine what it would feel like if Singapore was totally wiped out. what's it like for the people there? the atrocities that are happening, the bleakness of it all, the loss of hope...

on another note, went for the more upbeat worship today. they did a terrific job with the song 'I will worship' i'm not too sure if that's e title, but it's e one tt the guys and girls have a different part to sing. anyway, it was pretty heavy with the drums, but it sounded good :) there's still no hillsongs though, n it's kinda different i guess... guess hillsongs are really too far away from them :)

the sermon was good though. the pastor's embarking on a 15 week series called 'hitchhiker's guide to the bible' so it'll last for my whole fall semester :)

oh oh the pastor in charge of the college ministry (and they haf a meeting on campus every wed) looks a bit like bro kel (yea u can tell him tt haha) the way he dresses, a bit of e way he talks, even the build (except that this pastor is a lot older) haha. he was telling us about his wakeboarding experience, and going from being pulled by the boat, to being pushed by the water and e exhilaration of it all (and then drew a parallel to our relationship with God, about being pulled by all the 'rules and regulations' and trying so hard to be 'good' to being pushed along n enjoying the ride of the greatness n wonder of having such a cool r/s with God)

nothing much, except that i'm super super tired. oh and a very interesting answer to a prayer that i had. was supposed to go out with the 3 indian undergrads today for dinner (and she wanted bowling before that) but today woke up feeling super super tired n with a headache (which disappeared once i got into church, praise God haha). so was kinda praying that the meeting would be cancelled, and that she would be e one to cancel it, cos quite paiseh to say no to her when i said no so many times already haha... and guess wat? she called me about 4 hours ago saying that she had a lot of studying to do and could we please not go out? Haha PRAISE GOD woohoo! grin. now i can do my laundry, wash my dishes, cook, study study study study and GO TO SLEEP! yay! haha i need my sleep man.

paintball yesterday. which was a blast. super cool! i took out like 5 guys! woohoo! i rock! haha only got hit twice in that 4 hours or so, really thank God also cos i was super scared after seeing the injuries my friends sustained from it haha. it leaves a pretty bad bruise. the first shot on my back was a bounced off one from the wall behind me, so it wasn't as pain as it should haf been. haf a slight blueblack there, which is actually a bit more itchy than pain now haha. and the second shot was a direct hit on my nose. which was covered by my mask, which meant i didn't feel a single thing, except for little bit of paint that got through the opening near my mouth and tasted terribly bitter haha. rocks man... storming castles, strategising, sneaking up, hiding behind bunkers and finding that my aiming's not that off! woohoo! haha paintball really is an experience that everyone should try once but yea, note of caution: please wear something nice n thick. the army fatigues that was provided was kinda... erm.. free size, meaning that it's kinda like big tall american guys size. yes u get e picture. i went swimming :) haha.

but seriously pooped after all that vigorous activity. haven't exercised in ages so yes it's a strain to be running to much with a pretty heavy weapon haha. but it's cool! haha.
