i had my welcome fire alarm last night. 11.45pm. some stupid bugger set off the fire alarm in MY section of the building, n made us all proceed down to the ground floor. thankfully, i've been warned by my senior that witte hall is prone to lots n lots n lots of faked fire alarms (which means there r a couple more to come urgh) n so i took my time to go down. took the time to shut off my comp, change my shirt, find my slippers, grab a jacket n lock my door. then walk down ten flights of steps. (if i didn't know better, i would haf rushed down like the singaporean student is trained to -- get out of the sch under 3 min! yes.. haha)

anyway, it was really cold. below 15 degrees i think, n when the wind blew... oh man. even in my jacket (but i was wearing shorts!) it was pretty cold. most came down in thin shirts, ready to sleep. worse still were these two guys who were in the middle of a shower, and came out only in shorts n a towel. they were totally shivering like crazy.

n yea, after taking like 5 min to get out of the building, n waiting another 5 min with the flashing alarm light n high pitch siren, we saw the police drag away a boy (presumely the culprit i guess), and firefighters in full fire-fighting gear n axes in their hands trooping thru the building. another 5 more min later, the alarm was reset, n we were let back in, with all the house fellows n stuff looking piss. but u should have seen the look on everybody's face, especially when it was confirmed to be a false alarm.

lifts weren't to be used still, so had to climb up 10 flights of stairs to get back to my room. the stairs here are narrow n steep n it's super giddy climbing up. so yes. thanks to some immature idiot, we were caused quite a bit of inconvenience.

but yea the fire alarm is here better, in that it's not that irritating incessantly loud ringing. rather it's a siren. n after like every few sirens, a voice message says 'this is a fire alarm, please evacuate the building immediately'... yea. quite cool haha

really hope no more for the rest of the year, please. dun let some stupid drunk idiot do this to us again.... haha
