made a day trip to milwaukee today. even though it's less than 90 miles away, i've never been there before in my 2.5 years here...
but today, we finally did go. hit the miller brewery and after the tour, got free beer samples (like 3 mugs worth per person of 3 different types of beer). ok so we obviously couldn't finish it all, but it was good.
then it was off to the public market, where FRESH OYSTERS and clam chowder, and nice assorted food stuff was up for sale. didn't really get to see much of the historic third ward, but honestly, it didn't look like there was that much to see...
it was off to alterra for lunch (and the wonderful wonderful coffee!) and of cos, chenli's phrases tt we won't be forgetting any time soon...
"i'm the natural pro!"
"i will assassinate you!"
oooh. scary. haha
art museum was next and that was simply wonderful. not only was the museum itself gorgeous (and by lake michigan!), the exhibits were simply marvelous. i'm a sucker for museums, i think. not all types and not every exhibit, but definitely a great many things. didn't have enough time to finish that much before we were chased out, but it was really pretty cool.
the olympic ice rink was next, and it was HUGE. like i mean, HUGE. can't believe that i'm the only one out of the four who has skated in singapore, but all the same, outdoor skating next week, weather permitting! woot!
dinner was a water street brewery, and ahhhhhhh the beer is EXCELLENT. it's kinda sad - seems like i'll never really be able to get these wonderful microbrewery beers in singapore. =/ i wish i could even have miller... at least tt would be my reminder of the great beers of wisconsin...
i mean, i know there is brewerkz, but no... i'll still opt for spotted cow, or even that honey lager lite from dinner...
photo taking sessions, laughing and joking tog, driving and karaoking with the ipod in the car, just chilling out over lunch/dinner/beer drinking at miller... yet another set of memories forged in good times. ahhh. it feels so surreal that i'm back home now, that i'm back in madison and i have to go back to pia-ing for my exam this wk.
but i'm glad we went. i'm glad we all did =)
so... spring break! here we come! southern sun... ahhhh warmth and heat. hopefully thinking abt that takes my mind off the winter storm tmr =/ clinton's coming tmr... i'm not sure trekking thru and braving the storm's worth it to hear her speak for 45 min. ah well, we'll see...
