13.3 inches fell yesterday in the madisonian area, making this the second highest snowfall over a 24 hour period. (the record stands at 17.3 inches on Dec 3, 1990)
UW finally closed sch yesterday, announcing the closure at abt 3.30pm to close all evening and afternoon classes, making history once more. not like it affected me (just like e closure 2 years ago didn't) since i was done with classes anyway.
and all MMSD schs were closed yesterday as well, which means that i have yet to step foot into wright middle sch this sem at all, since last wed it was close for extreme wind chills as well haha. twice in a row, both on wednesdays!
anyhow, we're awfully close to making history. 38 of 68 winter days has seen snow, giving both a high frequency as well as an awful lot of snow this winter. we're like 4 inches away from setting the all-time winter snow record in Madison, and considering that snow's forecast for the next couple of days, and winter isn't ending just yet...
this winter is such a blast!
honestly speaking, the 13 inches of snow doesn't look all that bad haha. it's actually quite all right. but today being the day after, it's all about digging out from under that pile of snow. the snow right in front of my house is getting to be a pain - it's awful cumbersome climbing out/in all the time.
that said, i still love this :)
oh yes. GONG XI FA CAI! it's the first day of cny and i honestly don't care. there's no festivity here and you're so bogged down with work/classes/getting over feeling sick that it doesn't feel like cny anyway. then again, when has it felt like cny since i've been here? haha good company though, is always appreciated and the tuan yuan fan we had yesterday was pretty fun. cheers to friends who have become family :)
