At times like this, i'm really glad that i'm actually here, in the US, in Madison.
two days ago, it was reported that snow in Japan cause chaos, with one man dead and 200 more injured after 7 cm (2.8 inches) fell.

now, in the throes of yet another crazy winter storm, it makes me so mindful of how fortunate i am to be in a place that's used to such snow fall, and that despite the huge inconveniences and dangers that such winter weather pose, i'm safe.
there's an expected accumulation of 9 to 11 inches (22.8cm to 28cm) of snow by tmr. that's an awful lot of snow to be waddling/falling/inching/shoveling through to get to class. but i'm pretty much safe, that much i'm confident of. and for that, i'm thankful.
so here's to surviving one of the snowiest winters of Madison in all time - we're 16 inches away from hitting the record for snow in winter, and after tonight... we'll definitely be way closer to breaking that =)
ahhh for this to be my last winter here... haha
