how far the east is from the west

so the heavy snowfall got kind of delayed by a couple of hours, and at 5am last night, it was actually... not snowing yet. now, however, it's a wintry mess out. snow's falling at a rate of about 2-3 inches/hour, and these are huge snowflakes falling from the sky to patter down lightly on the tops of heads (except, of course, when the snow whips it straight into your face. then it's more like -ouch-)

but yes. it's beautiful out. everything's covered not just in a sheen of snow. it's not even a layer of snow. it's an absolutely DUMPING of snow. it's marvelous, fabulous, incredible. i've never had so much snow all at one go ever.

if anyone wants to see a real winter, you've just gotta be in town this year.

ah. anything beautiful has it's inconveniences does't it?
i can't believe i actually got up at 8.30am to get to class after 3.5 hours of sleep. i can't believe i did that for a ballet class. even more, i can't believe i braved the snow and the unplowed pavements to get out there.

but i love it out. it's not all too cold yet, so it's even better.

and the opportunities for sledding down bascom on cafetaria trays! WOOHOO! Glorious snow!

ah. it's a great time to be in Madison :) i know everyone's cursing the snow and the trudging to class and the weather, but i'm loving it! (ooh i just mac-snowed it)

anyhow, with the super tuesday primaries/caucuses inconclusive for the democrat race, wisconsin's going to play a far bigger role come feb 18 (or was it 19?). which means tt both obama and clinton will prob be stopping by Madison. -woot- i want to see clinton, just cos i've already gone for an obama rally. but i wouldn't mind going for another. ah the excitement of politics. watching, that is. not being in. that, to me, would be the ultimate no-no.

anyhow, i'm now safely snuggled in indie cafe, having just feasted on incredible waffles and hot chocolate. sitting in a corner of sch a nice coffeshop, with free wifi and the music from my ipod blasting in my ears, doing work/readings with good company... ahhh that's life. =) i'm hugely content.

and in the storm, in the snow, through the white and gray, i know You're there. as always. with every fluff of snow on my face, every caress of wind through my hair, every playful snowball and cold chill, i'm reminded once more that You are my Creator, my God, my Saviour, and indeed, my closest Friend. :)

cos You know just how far the east is from the west
From one scarred hand to the other.

I'm not holding on to You, but You're holding on to me. You're holding on to me.
