it's a bright sunny day. the gentle wind breezes through the fluttering leaves as the gentle rays of gold shine down. rabbits scampering over luxuriously green grass while squirrels hurriedly scurry to collect as many nuts as they can while the glorious weather holds.

the temperature's just right - not warm enough to draw perspiration, yet not cold enough to warrant a jacket. in fact, t-shirt and shorts are in order for the day. dusk is approaching, and the myriad of colours, of red, yellow and green, bask in the last hour of sunlight for the day. hues of red and purple are creeping in at the edges of the sky, and the scent of late summer carries on the hint of breeze.

it's beautiful, and stirringly so.

yet, i'm stuck in here, at my 2nd favourite haunt - wendt library. this is the second time today that i'm here. stuck here, to finish up my assignments. so amidst the quiet of the library, amidst my furious typing, amidst the studious passions of the students here... amidst all this, i dream of the beauty outside.

i know i wouldn't be able to study outside... i'd be way too busy nature (and people) watching. then again, i'm writing this post, certainly not way more productive than enjoying the vestiges of
summer/fall.

i feel it... the sands of time (and good weather) slipping through my finger. it hit hard as i was walking here, as i passed the tree outside wendt/union south. the familiar bark, the familiar branches... i've seen it shed its leaves and grow them back twice. once more will i see it, but then... then what? then it'll be goodbye. to this tree, and so many more.

so instead of getting pensive, i shall try and bury myself in the monotony and tediousness of GIS, cursing ArcGIS and ESRI every step of the way, and wondering why did i get myself into such a mess. ok, two messes, since i have two classes that deal with this. ahhh.
