ironman wisconsin was today, and is actually in fact, still going on right now - 16 hours and 20 minutes into the run. it's crazy in my opinion...3.8km swim, 180km bike and 42 km run. righhhht. it's way worse than the aviva ironman that was held last week in singapore, and seriously CRAAAAAAZY.
the weather today, however, has been absolutely gorgeous - not too hot, not too cold either (although that's changing in a couple of days -sniff-). which is highly unlike madison, considering that every year for ironman wisconsin, it has been either EXTREMELY cold or EXTREMELY hot. yeahhh. (last year, it was like maybe 10 degrees the whole day? and rainy. so that was really bad)
watching e live video of the finish life right now, with the really upbeat music and the hyper mcee shouting encouragements to the athletes as they finish their last lap. the wonderful thing is, even thought it's 10.30 at night, the number of supporters there is really impressive. people are just cheering their lungs out for all the runners. then again, it IS madison, so that says a lot.
and a 59 year old man just crossed e finish line. think the cheering at the finish line really drives e people on. that, and the fact that volunteers come up to support them once they cross e line. haha amazing.
so it's e 2nd wk of sch now. argh. that about describes it. it's kinda like... why am i doing this to myself? oh well, it's good for me. hopefully. which also means tt i should go do readings now sigh. it's so booooooring. ok so it's not that booooring. but reading from a course packet also sends me to sleep. somehow, it's better if it's e textbook, a book or papers on the comp. i just cannot read from the course packet. prob conditioning i guess haha. course packet = bed time story. oh well.
other updates - i love my place =) i'm not fully set up yet (i know! it's been forever!) but i love e privacy, the space, the place...everything basically =) i'm a happy girl. even though i'm not going to spend on deco, it's still a nice cozy place... =) and the sunflower completely brightens it up! i'm going to buy one every sat at farmer's market till they run out of it. after all, it's only 50cents and it's so preeeetty.. -awwww-
how does regional development and planning end up being econ geog???
