reading ezekiel 11 now (like 2 sec ago) and there was sth that really struck me.

"Therefore say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.' -- vs. 16

and well... i mean, it probably would have looked like any other verse in that passage to me, until I read the side notes from the study bible, which said:
"This is a critical verse for understanding the book of Ezekiel. Before the time of the exile, God's people associated Jerusalem and the temple with God's presence among them. Now God showed His people that He Himself could be their sanctuary: He cannot be confined geographically. God was with them in their exile, even in pagan Babylon. Later Christ came to replace the temple."

wow. and i know i'm taking this really out of context, but this is how it kinda went thru my brain as i read thru it:
(background info - basically, today was a stressful day and tmr's going to be worse cos i have a french quiz and the geog grad seminar class, as well as my discussion section for another geog class. i spent 3 hours reading 95 pages of readings, not including the 2 hours on another 2 more chapters yesterday... and that only makes up one of the 4 readings that i have to read for just ONE class by tmr. yeah. the other three come up to about 130 pages. and there's 50-some pages for the other class. and yeah, they're both geog.)

these words kinda jumped out. sanctuary in the countries where they have gone; cannot be confined geographically; God was (is) with them.

yeah, kinda snickered at the word 'geographically'. DEATH TO GEOGRAPHY. ok i'm joking. i love it. except when readings are cheem and i have absolutely no idea what the readings are talking about. and when the pile of it threatens to flood me.

but anyhow, God's power cannot be limited by geography, and i shall find my sanctuary and strength, even as i aim to simply get through tomorrow :)
