i'm thinking of serving in the children's ministry at my church. met up with the person in charge of elementary ministry at a cafe this morning, and i guess i'm pretty much going ahead. all that remains is the matter of what area. kinda feels like i'm being thrown right in and to flounder around till i get the hang of it. scary. but there's training and there's help. and I want to get out of my comfort zone. still... it is scary. big church, weird accent, and general unfamiliarity with everything. ah well... just keep me in your prayers yeah? esp regarding what area i should serve in.

just read an article in the forum page of strait times (yes! ura finally got us the subscription for it YAY!) about people not giving way to emergency vehicles in Singapore. it just really struck me, because just a couple of weeks ago, I was thinking the same thing - it is really different here as compared to Singapore. it's amazing really. when a police car/fire engine/ambulance sound the sirens, essentially EVERY CAR on the road moves off to the right and either slows down or stops completely just to give a clear route for the vehicle. it can be a red light for the ambulance and a green for oncoming vehicles, yet not a single car will actually move and be in the way of the vehicle.

anyway, i'll be back 25 Dec, 11.50am, the same as last year. yeah, this is a really early notice, but gotta start booking tickets man... let's just hope i'll survive the winter (and the sch work :/) till then. school's starting next tuesday. -SIGH- 3 weeks of holiday wasn't long enough. esp not when most of it was moving and taking care of freshies. gah.
