where in the world can you be an illegal immigrant, and hold protests campaigning for rights and citizenship? i'm kinda amazed really...
on another note, sometimes it does seem that singapore micro-manages, when you compare it with the various practices of US or Europe etc. but i guess, as such a small country, where regional decisions are in fact national decision, running her like a company does make sense. it's interesting because you can understand the view of the government, and at the same time, the view of the people. guess the challenge is always about the bridging of ideas and perspectives.
on another note, spring temperatures are in! hit 22 degrees today. but diurnal ranges of 14 degrees aren't really my thing, and lugging around extra jackets for the colder temperatures at night gets kinda troublesome. not really looking forward to summer though, cos it's really gonna be hot -groan-
an exam tmr that i really want to give up on. i mean, i get to drop one midterm (thank goodness) but at the same time, i don't want to regret not putting in my best effort. on the other hand, i think i have too much caffeine in my blood at this moment, and i really want to juz toss my notes/textbook into the bin right now. that's about how sick of it i am. oh i guess i do enjoy what i'm studying... nutritional science, cos there's so many things that i'm learning (like it takes 2lbs of carrots a day to turn you orange! but carrots contain beta-carotene, the pre-cursor of retinol, which is vit A, and that isn't toxic. but retinol itself, in excess amounts, can be.) yeah little unknown trivia of the day huh?
but. i have no interest right now in trying to cram little wiggly numbers of RDAs and like a million and one different sources of another million and one little micro nutrients into my head. yes. so if this doesn't make sense, blame it on the lack of sleep, lack of enthusiasm, and over dose of coffee.
after wed, i'm going to kick the coffee addiction for 3 weeks (till finals =) and sleep through all my classes haha... for those of you, who like me, rely too much on that little chemical called caffeine, read this: http://home.howstuffworks.com/caffeine.htm :)
