okay a couple of quick updates...

been back for 16 days. hmm feels like forever just 'cos school didn't even start slack on the very first day. it's kinda been like propelling me head first into a pile of work. bleh.

i'm starting to regret taking so many courses this sem. but hey, xian ku hou tian (or literally translated, first bitter later sweet. rather, suffer now and then haf an easier time in my future sems...) but well, i guess the courses r good for me, and i do love what i'm studying now (okay i like the fencing class and the hans christian andersen one, but stats, geog stats and microecons? hmmm haha) and i guess overall, it is kinda interesting learning all these stuff.

cny passed without much of a festive mood. no holiday = no mood. haha but there isn't a china town here so there isn't much of a chinese spirit to it. but i had cny reunion dinner with the singaporeans at this great chinese restaurant, where we got to lou hei yusheng that they brought back from singapore. and which was really good (Except tt we had to resort to using coleslaw as the veggies haha)

but. i ended up passing the midnight on cny eve finishing up stats homework, and spending the entire afternoon and night cooped up in the library on the first day of cny studying econs and nutri science. cny bah. haha

there's been a spate of really nice warm weather, but temps are starting to dip again. it's kinda funny cos my batch pple were sniggering over how we gush abt how warm it was, and then when we tell pple tt it was 5 degrees, the reactions are kinda hilarious haha.

nothing much else i guess. my new rm mate's cool, i haven't fallen off my bed yet, i'm no longer jetlagging (thank God!), my church has started a new service in the theatre and it's really close to where we like to go eat lunch after church (it's this really good place that serves congee on weekends... yum haha), i'm in the midst of signing a lease for my house for aug, i'm dying from having 2 quizzes every week, and like 12 exams throughout the whole sem (thank goodness, no papers to write, just lots and lots of homework), i'm looking forward to spring break, there are plans being made for holidays (yay!), i can't wait for spring, i've started fencing twice a week, there's a campus crusade service tt i attend on thurs nights, i finally went down to the mall on sat, and... i'm settling back into the routine of school all over again.

on another note, it's always serenely moving to see the frosted dusting of snow on the rough bark of the log lying in the midst of bare trees huddled close together, all topped with snow sprinkles. and having the lake as the backdrop, with it's dark winter currents and iced surface, is simply breathtaking. and times like this, i'm juz so grateful to be here. to have scenery like this as you rush to classes... wow.

tt's it for now. exams start in 2 wks. bleh. but. i still have 2 quizzes tomorrow. talk abt sian. haha
