haven't really posted in a while. it's been incredibly busy i guess.

went shopping last saturday at johnson's creek (a factory outlet mall) and ended up buying lots of stuff. (still) feeling highly satisfied with my bargains, and i actually enjoyed the shopping experience, which... is... well. kinda unusual for me haha. bought a handbag (from$40 to $10), a pair of dress boots that are incredibly incredibly warm (from $69.99 to $25), a nice warm nike beanie (from $15 to $5), an adidas pair of running shorts (from ??? to $10) and two old navy long sleeves shirts for $4 each (granted, they came from the kids section, but still?!) oh and a banana republic t-shirt for my bro and another for a friend.

the funny thing was that we were going to 'drop by' johnson's creek for like 3 hours or so then head down to milwaukee, which was 1.5h away. none of us thought we would be shopping like we did but we ended up staying 8 hours there. no milwaukee visit this time (i really have to go there before i graduate...) and we came back to madison for one of the best chinese restaurants here (it's far from campus so it's hard to get there without the car. but since we rented one... haha)

so tt was a great weekend. followed by a week of debilitating school. and now it's the weekend again! yay! went for a men's hockey game yesterday (finally!) it was great and awesome. the atmosphere's not as electrifying as a football (american) game, but hockey has a set of cheers that u dun hear anywhere else. like everybody shouting in unison 'SIEVE SIEVE SIEVE SIEVE SIEVE' to the goalie, or other names that probably shouldn't be mentioned haha. the power play cheer was cool, and the usual 'let's go red/let's go badgers'. and of cos, our ever-awesome and cool marching band. without them, there would be no atmosphere whatsoever.

quotes from the unison cheering/jeering last night:
- st. cloud is NOT a state! (st cloud state was the sch against us, and yeah when u have the entire student section shouting tt together, it's almost hilarious)
- CITE YOUR SOURCES (to the ref i think)
- POWER! plaaaaaaaay. POWER! plaaaaaaay.

two renditions of our sch song (on wisconsin!), and we won 3-1! woohoo! considering tt they were ranked 4th in the nation, and our wonderful hockey team that won last year's national title is not even ranked this time. there's another match tonight against them, and i hope we THRASH THEM! woot.

cny's eve today. having a grand cny dinner tonight. a little expensive (ok it's pretty darn expensive) so the food better be worth it. there's scallop, fried quail, roasted pig, yusheng to lao (ok so we brought this back from singapore) and lots of stuff. it's a 10 course, which is great.

and there's chicago citylights next sat... hossan leong and all. hmm my weekends are a little too full of things in my opinion. then again, that's why i have friday off! haha.

the highlight of next week, though, is the fact that IT'S GOING TO BE ABOVE ZERO DEGREES!!!!! to show my glee and happiness, i shall venture out in an outer jacket and a tshirt. which honestly, i think will be enough. considering that i've been going out in -15 degrees in an outer jacket, one thin jacket and a t-shirt... yeah. hahaha =) excited! it's actually expected to go above 5 degrees on friday. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! it's such a nice reprieve from the -20 plus with wind chill that we have been having. especially the whole section of -37 degrees with wind chill days (that my sch refused to close sch for, because they dun close sch for cold weather even though your ears and fingers and nose and toes could all drop off because apparently students can still come to class because the buses are running. never mind if u dun stay anywhere near a bus stop or anything else.) my sch only will -consider- closing sch for blizzard like conditions. and might i add, they closed it once last academic year in the last 20 years BECAUSE there was a BLIZZARD IN THE MORNING and they closed sch at 4pm, after the majority of the classes were over.

right.

oh. and it's president's day on monday. but guess what? as usual, unlike the rest of the nation, MY SCHOOL DOES NOT HAVE A HOLIDAY. no holiday for anything at all. argh. i can't wait for spring break. and even then, it falls on the good friday/easter weekend (then again, it's not like my sch gives a holiday for that either...)

ah well.

to top off this long post, i think i've finally decided where i'm going to stay. happy that they still have space, so thank God for tt. cos their website actually said tt it was gone, and one of my prayers was that when i finally had the time to go see the place, there will still be space left for the right one. and guess what? apparently the website is wrong, cos they have lots of space! haha. sweet. =)

so here's wishing everybody a HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR. GONG XI FA CHAI, WAN SHI RU YI! dun get caught in the flash floods at china town yeah? :)
