just got back from my first class for the summer. there's something about coming out of class at 8.45pm and still have it bright out. amazing really. it's a great feeling (although i could do with a little less sun at 5am in the morning, sighhhh) for the un-geographied pple, TOMORROW'S THE SUMMER SOLSTICE! it's the longest day in the year for the northern hemisphere (and conversely the shortest day for the southern hemisphere) the north pole's gonna be having 24 hours of sunlight. cool eh?
so the first class was 'music in performance'. i'm taking this for fun, since i've so much time in summer, and it's only a one credit class that lasts 4 weeks. essentially, u learn a couple of basic music stuff, and every lesson guest performers come in to play. so in effect, i'm getting 8 free concerts. today was a tuba quartet and whoa... they are good. 2 euphoniums and 2 tubas. amazing... never knew they could be so good (then again, i've only really know euphoniums and tubas from the rjsb haha)
other news... got a paper cut from the notes of that class haha. folklore starts tmr, and there's an awful lot of readings to do from what i've seen from the course packet. well, time for me to start work i guess. school has started... again. =/
