hey dad (and mum =) love u too! :) i'm doing good, and prob eating more than i should, but def eating healthier and better. dun haf to worry abt me!

juz got back from primetime service. which is run by student impact/campus crusade. [on thurs, 9pm -- if u wanna come, yun =)]

so basically, scott southworth was speaking. check this out http://www.blackfive.net/main/2005/09/captain_scott_s.html

yeah, so this guy really exemplifies faith in action, which is what arises when we step down from the throne in our heart and let God take the control He deserves. And that comes because of faith, because of the resurrection. which ties back to last week's message on the resurrection. (which by the way, was a great message)

the kid was there too... and he led us in a short prayer. amazing. it's really amazing to see God work in some wondrous ways.

so yeah. that was great.

and church. well, it's a evangelical free church, and it's pretty huge in terms of numbers... there are 5 service times on sunday, and there is both video cafe and the main sanctuary service for each time, and one additional video-cafe service at 9.30 at a cinema place (which is the service that i go to). it reaches out to the college kids, and they have campus buses so it's a great draw for us (there's hardly any buses on sundays... yes so it's tough getting to places over the weekend)

the word is really really good. i feel that i'm learning a lot of stuff, even though the series now are supposedly the 'basics'. now's the series on 'theology for dummies', while last fall was 'hitchhiker's guide to the bible'. i guess a lot of these concepts are things that we know, but find it difficult to translate into a clear, definite explanation. the teaching team is good, although i wish that worship would be longer.

church refreshes me. juz entering the location itself, and sensing God's presence so strongly... (i mean, it's like a cinema theatre, but it's totally transformed when we're there to worship God) then having worship, and word... yeah. it's pretty sweeeeeeet. haha.

(and yes, i AM picking up lots of american slang. gaaaaaah )

spring's in the air. it's so amazing seeing all the buds growing. guess we don't really get that too often in singapore, cos everything's ever-green. but when u see the whole tree budding, woaaaah. it's pretty awesome. i think fall and winter scenaries are breathtakingly beautiful. spring... nay, not breathtaking in the same way. but it's inspiration and heartwarming, full of hope and life and promise. you see the buds flower and grow day after day as you walk pass it to school, and u think of how God tends to us, and how we grow day after day in our journey with Christ, budding slowly, but budding nonetheless.

temp's are a little erratic nowadays. on warm days like today, it can hit 22-odd (hit 28 last week), but at night, it can drop to 4-ish on colder nights. was reading a novel set in alaska (yeah, finally time to catch up on some reading, n u know u need it when u're about ready to bash your head over your keyboard at the deterioriation of yr vocab database) and somehow, the temperatures and conditions described in there are sooooooo reminiscient of nov-feb times.

took lots of pictures. got to think abt getting them uploaded someday. maybe over summer haha. on an interesting note, someone drew a comic about the calender in wisconsin. basically it's like
jan - winter
feb- winter
mar - winter
april - winter
may - winter
june - spring
july - summer
aug - fall
sept - winter
oct - winter
nov - winter
dec - winter

man.. u have got to live here to understand...

BUT. it is getting a bit too warm on some days for my comfort. yeah. the need to acclimatize. AGAIN. sheez! haha.

updates on my shins: physio says either shin splints (but posterior, rather than anterior tibial stress syndrome) or compartment syndrome. gave me a couple of exercises to do to see if they help strengthen the calf muscles to take more weight off the shin. he's treating it as shin splints first, so if they dun go away, then it's in for testing for compartment syndrome.

but, he's given me the green light to go running and exercising again. so that's really good news, cos i was being terribly mop-py abt not being able to run. u dun appreciate it really till it's taken from you... haha. not allowed to go past the 1.5 mile (2.4km) mark though, but i dun think i'm likely to do that. so that's fine with me...

so before finals hit and i have to go hole myself up in the lib again, here's to enjoying the sun, wind and great temps! be thankful you guys have it year round man! hahahahaha =)
